Exile Room and Docs on Wheels are just about to drop anchor in the middle of the Aegean! Our next stop is an island off the beaten track, next to Koufonisia and Amorgos, by the name of Schoinoussa. The permanent population is hardly more than 200 people, but they’re madly in love with their island and they’re mostly young and full of energy and ideas. True to its mission to bring unexpected films to unexpected places, Docs on Wheels will be visiting the island with a treasure trove of documentaries on Saturday and Sunday, March 17 & 18.

In the context of this 2-day event, documentary filmmaker and sound recordist, Christina Pitouli, will coordinate a documentary workshop for children and teenagers called “Future Memories”, a movie scrapbook of sorts that will collect and preserve what they love the most about the island. No doubt, their future selves will thank them one day!

Our visit to the island goes hand-in-hand with two documentaries: “Racing Extinction” by Louie Psihoyos and “Twinsters” by Samantha Futerman and Ryan Miyamoto, which will screen at the Schoinoussa Cultural Center on March 17 & 18 at 9pm, free of charge.
